- Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2012I used this book (and the accompanying workbook) when I attended the class (with a couple of sessions facilitated by the author) locally here in Michigan. Since then I've bought multiple copies to share with friends and acquaintances that express feeling "lost" with regard to their purpose and direction.
The author has done a great job of guiding the reader through scripture, and often avoided deep introspection. After establishing the certainty that God created each of us with a specific purpose, it moves through having you reflect on childhood likes/dislikes/experiences/hobbies/etc. Not only does it help adults review their formative years for a glimpse into what God has planted within each of us, but it also provides guidance to parents on carefully observing, encouraging, and not squashing the healthy expression of their children's divinely implanted talents, perspectives and gifts.
After moving through childhood reflections, and the sometimes difficult, but necessary, Day Four (Obstacles to Purpose), the identification of one's Motivational Gift (from Romans 12) begins on Day Five (completed on Day Eight). Not only is it helpful to discover our own Motivational Gift (to better understand ourselves, to emphasize our natural strengths, and to mitigate our natural negative tendencies), but a great benefit to me was learning to appreciate the (often VASTLY) different (yet legitimate) perspectives of others.
Wrapping up with a focus on becoming well-developed children of God, seated in our purpose fully, happily playing our specific role in the body of Christ, the book completes Days Nine and Ten as a congratulations for those who have discovered their: ruling passion, Motivational Gift, life's work and life's service - and welcomes us to embark on a lifetime journey of growing in effectiveness and excellence in service to God and our "neighbors".
I have even begun using the books to teach the class at my own local church.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2007These materials were very helpful to me. These assessments are thought-provoking and helped me understand why I'm very good at some things and not so good at others. These materials also forced me to focus on my strengths but also to build myself in areas where I need to. As a business owner, these materials helped me think about what I need to look at when putting together a management team and understanding their strengths so that the company has leaders who are strong in their specialty areas. I see the value in hiring individuals who do not all see things the same way that I do. These materials were so valuable to me that I blessed my sister with the set that includes the book, workbook, and journal. You'll definitely be better prepared for your profession or your business by using these materials.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2012This book is superb reading for those who are seeking their purpose in their life. It serves as a tool to help those needing to reach their potential. Reading this book motivated me to return to my gift. I want to leave this with you. Les Brown a prominent motivational speaker shared that the cementeries are full of people that never fulfilled their purpose. Don't be part of that number.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2007This is an awesome book written by two awesome people of God. The Eagans clearly explain the process of going from wandering, wondering, confusion, frustration and depression to knowing, understanding, accepting and fulfilling the plan of God for YOUR life. There are plenty of exercises, "prayerful reflections" and useful examples of famous individuals that have found and pursued their purpose. Get this book for yourself. Get it for a friend (Christmas is coming up soon!). If your a parent this book will help you understand and help your children get on their God ordained path. If you can get the workbook too, it has lists of occupations for each of the Motivational Gifts(How you are individually "wired"). Better yet get the complete CD series. Enjoy.
